For secondary research, I looked at a few similar blogs to what I aim for. Although mine is based on the genre horror, I looked at a range of blogs with different genres or one blog itself does a selection of genres all together.
My first blog I looked at is called The Movie Blog.
This blog is aimed for more students that have an interest in filming, watching films or just help with people who study film reviews in journalism. The blog was started by John Campea who started off by writing a blog about his personal hobbies and interests but he soon realised that he started writing more about films and his opinions. He employed his friends to help out and till this day, it is a student blog that is all about movies.
The next blog I looked at was made by a student from America and it is a review blog for films, music, books and much more.
There is little information about the creator of the blog but they have started a long time ago because the films go back to 2009 and effectively show the owner's understanding of each film they review. The blog itself is for the horror genre so relates to that sort of audience but some people may prefer books to movies so the owner of the blog kept their content in a range for everyone to enjoy.
Overall, for my blog I want to keep a horror genre for my set audience and just for films because keeping up with the trends, more people are turning to movies rather than books. My blog will mainly have my view on horror films I particularly enjoy and what others tell me they have watched so I will watch it then review.
